Better late than never...

I promise you, I have good excuses for not having blogged for a month! Our first JBF event was this past week - and it was fabulous! But for now, I have some Easter and Birthday blogging to catch up on!

My dear mother-in-law was sweet enough to let us combine Easter and Kait's birthday at her house this year since I was overwhelmed with JBF planning. My mom was in town, which made the birthday celebration extra special for my little 6-year-old!

We did Easter dinner first. D.J. christened the occasion by sticking silverware from random place settings into his ear. Yes, the child is a bit odd. I wonder who ended up with the ear spoon?

After lunch was our Easter egg hunt. All three of the kids were old enough to be able to enjoy the action this year!

Looking to see what's inside is even more fun! I was guilt ridden halfway through my Easter egg candy shopping trip and had to start buying teddy grahams and goldfish to stick in them. Children can only consume so much chocolate, right?

I think little man is trying to determine what flavor of Jelly Belly he's eating. He looks like he's concentrating pretty hard on that candy.

Next we were on to the birthday celebration - balloons, streamers, cake and all! How is my baby already 6? And reading? And still as seriously cute as can be? Must be her good genes.

I post this picture because it amuses me. In case you think your eyes are fooling you, they're not. Kaitlin asked her Grandma Linda for a box of money for her birthday - and that's what she gave her: a box of money. Had I known it was that simple, my gift lists would have been a lot more honest. This year I'm asking for a Lexus filled with chocolate for Christmas and I'm pretty sure I'll get it. Push comes to shove, Kaitlin can just keep asking for boxes of money and eventually she'll be able to buy it for me =)

Doug and I (read "I"...Doug is just a non-complaining participant) have a real issue with splurging on Kaitlin's birthday presents, and thanks to her new-found understanding of the value of money, I'm going to have to stop else she EXPECT too much come holidays. So in ending to the extravagant gift giving, Doug and I purchased a 15 ft. trampoline complete with safety net for Kait's birthday. This is the reaction we got....

Well worth it if you ask me!!
