We just got back from a weekend trip out to the other side of the state to celebrate Doug's Grandpa's 95th birthday! Oh, to be like Grandpa Ed at 95! He still travels to Michigan several times a year and even does a crossword puzzle every day. I'm not sure I could do that now. Happy Birthday Grandpa Ed! We also got to celebrate Grandma Swanees birthday, since their birthdays are just about a month apart.
Grandpa and Grandma getting ready to blow out their candles. It was hard to get a good shot since there was about a gazillion people all taking rapid fire shots with their flashes on (you know what I'm talking about, Patti!)

Baby Doug didn't know what to think about the whole situation. He did, however, greatly enjoy large amounts of food. Man, can that child ever eat.

Wyatt and Holly. Wyatt loved the birthday card that Grandpa got that played a silly song when you opened it up. Next to the balloons, it was by far his favorite experience of the day!

Doug's oldest brouther, Eddie, and his girlfriend, Wendy. This was Wendy's first time meeting the extended family! Hope the poor girl sticks around afterwards.

We stayed at Eddies house, which backs up to a little canal. Uncle Eddie took Kaitlin out for a little ride in the canoe, or, as Kaitlin insisted it was called, "gondala swimming."
